Policies and Enforcement
Policy in Regards to Using the Space
- The EVC station will present a full charge in a maximum of 4 hours. We ask that individuals please move their car once it has received a full charge for other individuals to have access to the spaces.
- The spaces are not to be used by a vehicle that does not need electric charging, nor should they be occupied by a car that possesses a full charge.
- Additionally, the spaces are not to be used as a location for loading/unloading or as a place for visitors to wait for passenger pick-up/drop-off. There will be a parking fee for use of the space.
Enforcement
- Example: When a car is charging at the EVC station in Lot B, a notice displays “charging in progress” along with the duration of the charge. There is a maximum stay time of 4 hours at each charging station. If a vehicle exceeds this time, a warning citation will be issued for the first offence, and subsequent violations will result in a $30 fine for “exceeding maximum stay”.
- At the EVC stations in the L.R. Wilson building, there is no time limit displayed, only indicator lights showing the charging status. A parking officer will monitor these stations by checking the vehicles and noting the time. If a vehicle remains beyond the maximum time, a citation will be issued for the same violation.
