GENERAL INFORMATION
Students (undergraduate and graduate) can purchase permits in lot M.
Create an account and purchase a parking permit.
NOTE: Applications will not be processed if there are outstanding fines against the applicant or the vehicles being registered, and/or if parking privileges have been withdrawn.
All students must have a valid McMaster ID or Mohawk College card to be issued a parking permit.
MOTORCYCLE PERMITS
Motorcycle permit allows you to park at following locations:
- Cement pad located between the Nuclear Research Building and John Hodgins Engineering Building (No Card needed)
- Cement pad located inside Lot B. (Card Needed)
With the card permit you can park in both locations while without card you can park only on the cement pad located between NRB and JHE. Please note that your motorcycle must be registered with parking services to avoid getting a ticket.
If you already have parking permit for your vehicle, then motorcycle permits (either #1 or #2 above) are available at no additional cost to you. If you don’t have a parking permit for your vehicle then the motorcycle permit will cost $19.00 per month.
EVENING PERMITS
Evening parking transponders are available for those needing evening access only. Transponders are valid from 4:00 PM until 6:30 AM the following day, Monday to Friday and all day on weekends and statutory holidays in lots BCD, H and I.
Frequently Asked Questions
If a new transponder is needed, these are only available for pickup from the Parking Office, Monday to Friday 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM at T32 Rm 106. If you plan to renew the parking at a later date, do not throw your transponder away and do not return it to the Parking Office. Your transponder will be reprogrammed based on the parking duration, lot preference and amount authorized on your application.
Undergraduate Students working towards a BA, BSc, Mohawk College students at the IAHS, Continuing Education, IAHS, Medical, Nursing and students working towards a 2nd degree all fall within this category for parking in Lots M.
Graduate student must be registered with the School of Graduate Studies and be working towards a Master’s Degree or a PhD. All that fall within this category are eligible for parking in Lot M.
MBA students may apply for Ron Joyce Centre parking.
Parking Services encourages alternative means of transportation to preserve the environment. We have collaborative initiatives with the office of sustainability, such as go transit, carpool parking, electric vehicle parking, secure bike storage and bike lockers rentals to meet storage needs for green transit users.
